The article says the impotance of learning language with others for babies.
The article highlights two studies, the first of which showed that children learn language better when someone is speaking to them than when watching videos.
the second of which showed a higher level of language learning among the children who watched the videos with another child than the children who watched the video by themselves.
Working with others has benefits that providing information and motivation.
Do researchers understand why very young children learn languages much faster than older children or adults?
No. They still don't understand why.

時々娘にテレビを見せるんだけど、すぐに飽きてしまいます。でも、私がそばにいたり、私が話しかけて一緒にテレビを見ると、飽きずに見てくれるんです。まさに研究の通りだと思います。
最近公園に娘を連れて行くと、娘は他の子供をじっと見て、真似をします。
例えば、砂場で一人で遊んでいる時はただ砂を触るだけだったのに、
他の子がシャベルを使っているのを見て、娘も使い始めたんです。
他の子と遊ぶことでいろんなことを吸収していると感じます。

失敗を恐れないから
子供は大人と違ってやりたいことをやるし、いろんなことに挑戦するし、集中する力を持っている。
私も英語を話す時は自分のこと赤ちゃんだと思うようにしよう。

小さい頃から母国語以外の言葉に触れることはいいことだと思う。第二言語を学んで話せるようになってほしいし、それがゴールじゃなくて話すことでたくさんの人とコミュニケーションを取れるようになってほしい。
日本の文化以外を知ることで世界も広がる。例えばわからないことがあって調べる時英語ができたら世界中の情報から調べることができるから。あとはいろんな価値観や考えを知ることができて、それが生活や仕事に役立つことがある。

一人で勉強していました。
海外ドラマで学校の風景見て日本と違うと感じるところがある。
机が円卓でみんなが向かい合って座っているところ。
日本の学校で、授業中みんなで話す機会ってあんまりない。
小学校から大学までずっと、ただ聞くだけが多いと思う。
数学とか集中しないといけない科目はそれでいいかもしれないけど、
英語とか話すことで身に付く科目はもっと授業のスタイルを変えていく必要があると思う。

いきなり高い目標を設定しても続かないから、今は日常会話ができるようになることが目標です。

私の夫の弟は今年からNYに勤務になったけど、彼は英語が話せない。
石油業界で働いてて、向こうでも仕事は全て日本語らしい。

中国の商品を買って、日本で売るビジネスが今流行ってて、
私も５年くらい前に副業をやってたんです。
スマホケースを売ってたんだけど、可愛いデザインでそんなに質も悪くないのに、１つ5円とかで売ってた。輸入コストがかかるけど、それでも1つ500円くらいで仕入れできる。自分でオンラインショップをデザインして商品を梱包してって結構大変だけど、かなり稼げる！
本業が忙しくなって辞めたけど、日本で売れそうな商品を選んだりするの楽しかったからまたやりたい。
